Alexandru Iosub
Born in 1954, in Piatra Neamt, Alexandru Iosub first graduaded the “Octav Bacancila” School of Music from Iasi, then, in 1977, the Bucharest Music University. He perfected the art of orchestra conducting with maestro Constantin Bugeanu.
During 1977 - 1981 he performed as a violonist in the “Mihail Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra, in Bacau, and starting 1981, he began conducting the symphonic orchestras of the “Elena Teodorini” Opera Theatre and “Oltenia” Philharmonic. He then started a teaching career (violin class), in 1995, at the “Marin Sorescu” School of Music, in Craiova.
The maestro is also known as a composer, playwriting for the “Colibri” Children Theatre in Craiova, then again for orchestrating famous works for different ensembles.
Cumulating a vast experience, conducting hundreds of opera, operetta and symphonic concerts in Romania’s cultural centres and abroad, Alexandru Iosub – a proficient and talented musician – asserts in the cultural and spiritual life of Craiova as a high class artistic individuality, his performances being acclaimed by both the public and numerous specialists.
Emil Siegbert Maxim
Born in Cluj (1943), Emil Maxim completed his musical studies at the Conservatory of Music "Gheorghe Dima" from Cluj-Napoca in 1966.
He has a vast professional experience as choir master and conductor: Assistant chorus master at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca (1967-1969); Choir master at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca (1969-1987); Men's Choir Conductor "Harmony" (1985-1991); Manager and conductor of the Opera and Operetta Theatre of Craiova (1995-2001); Conductor of the National Operetta Theatre "Ion Dacian" Bucharest (2006-2009). He has also been a Lecturer at the Music Academy "Gh Dima ", Cluj-Napoca for 11 years (1995-2006).
As a choir master, he prepared and conducted over 80 works. Orff: Carmina Burana; Rachmaninoff: The Bells, op.35 etc.).
During international tours, he performed on famous stages like Pompei, Andrea, San Remo, Livorno, Montecattini, Lucca, Pistoia, Viareggio, Pescara Salerno, Minori, Trapani, Syracuse, Cefalu, Enna, Pergusa, Bologna, Rome, Bari (Italy); Locarno, Vevey (Switzerland); Solingen (München, Germany); Sofia, Warne, Stara Sagora (Bulgary); Kosice, Bratislava (Slovakia); Kiew (Ukraine).
He has many ELECTRECORD audio radio recordings with Choirs from opera and a capella & Areas of work and canzonette volumes, as well with Romanian creations on CDs: The Bane (The Plague) - DRAGOI, The desolated genius (Poesis) - DUMITRESCU, The mioritic model - GEORGESCU, Book with Apollodorus - NICULESCU, The goat with three kids - ZIRRA, Pana Lesnea Rusalim - CONSTANTINESCU.
In 2004, Emil Maxim was awarded with the Order of “Cultural Merit”, in the rank of Officer, and in 2009 he became Conductor of “Oltenia” Philharmonic, Craiova.
Manuela Enache
Manuela Enache was born in Craiova, Romania, in 1984 and began studying music at the age of seven. After completing her studies at the “Marin Sorescu”
School of Music, she went to Bucharest Music University on a full
scholarship to study choral conducting with violin as an ancillary
subject.
In 2008 she graduated with a BA degree and began studying for a Master degree in choral conducting. She has performed with several choirs including the Craiova Junior Opera and Radio Choir; DaCapo Chamber Choir (in Lucretia Borgia at the Bucharest National Theatre in 2006); the Bucharest University Choir, which she conducted at eight concerts; the Romanian Patriarchate Choir (2008, 2009); and the Delea Noua Choir, with which she has performed at concerts in Viena, Nurenberg, Munich and Ingolstadt.
She has also played with the Elena Teodorini Opera House Orchestra, and in 2008 she performed in concert with a chamber choir at the Ateneul Roman. In the same year she won an award at workshop competition run by Radio Romania Muzical.
In 2009 she took part in a scholarship at the Birmingham Conservatoire, studying choral conducting with Paul Spicer.
Manuela Enache is currently the choral conductor at the Oltenia Philarmonic Choir and she is colaborating as teacher with the Music and Arts highschool Marin Sorescu.
